First off, I want to thank you for visiting my blog. ♥
You’re probably wondering what the name of my blog stands for since it’s kind of a funny combination. I’m not that good at explaining things, but because you already took the time to read this I think you’re worth an explanation. Pizzas and Prada owes its name to the combination of a boring student life and the mind of this student which is a little less boring. So who is this student we’re talking about?
The mind behind Pizzas and Prada is me, Rachel. Nice to meet you! I’m a 17 year old Utrecht-based student from the Netherlands. I’m in my first year at the School of Journalism. I’m spending my time studying, but we all know we’re not spending as much time at studying as we should. So except spending some time on the study now and then, I’m mostly busy reading and dreaming about anything concerning fashion and beauty, including the photography and inspiration that goes along with it. My love for luxury makeup, designer brands, minimalistic interiors and a lifestyle like Blair Waldorf combined with my own life which consists of school, friends, party’s, shopping more than I can afford and eating more (pizzas) than I should is just about the thought behind Pizzas and Prada.
Huh? Dutch girl writing in English?
You might wonder why a 17 year old Dutch girl is writing in English. I have strong desires for New York and I would love to go there asap! I’d love to write for a magazine or have my own successful blog for a living and I think the greatest place to do this is in New York, the city where dreams are made of. When I was in high school my education was bilingual. This means I was learning half of my subjects in English. Now I’m in college and I’m studying in Dutch again, I notice my English is getting worse already. I think it would be a shame not to do anything with the beautiful English language. So if I can’t write in English at school, why not do it myself? In my opinion, you can achieve more if you’re a good English speaker, who doesn’t wanna go international?
Thus, this blog is the scrapbook of my mind, in particular my thoughts about fashion, beauty, things that keep me busy and all the inspiration I need to lose somewhere. Oh and by the way: I really appreciate some feedback of your critical minds over there, so if you have something to say let me know! I am currently shooting with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF5K with a 14-42 zoom lens. I’m not an expert in the field of (SLR) camera’s and photography, but I’m learning and I really enjoy making photographs and editing pictures.
Have a wonderful day ♥
